General Description

Nicotra Sistemi Optical Cable Network Monitoring System (OCN-MS) is designed for assuring the optical networks reliability.

Fiber optic cables are used in the backbone or long-haul transmission networks between cities, local access and distribution networks, connections between central offices, LAN (local area network) and cable television applications. The reliability of the optical networks is a priority.

OCN-MS is not just a simple, stand alone, fault detection system.

OCN-MS is a complete monitoring and management system integrated into the Operational Support System (OSS).

OCN-MS gets data from the Geographical Information System (GIS) and gives information to OSS that are vital for fast fault restoration, maintenance cost reduction, Quality of Service (QoS) certification and Service Level Agreement (SLA) documentation.

OCN-MS complies with the more recent ITU recommendations.
