The SCU is the "head" of the system. It memorizes all the information received in its brain (central Oracle database) ad carries out all the actions to face the new situation in the best and fastest way.
The OCN-MS identifies and characterizes the problem and combines the information to a geographical database (GIS) generating an alarm report, providing exact fault coordinates.
A complete alert report is then ready to be sent to the maintenance team, instructing them where to go and what to do to restore the network in the faster time.
The alarm can be sent by FAX, GSM, PAGER, E-MAIL and remote printer.
OCN-MS has a set of embedded reports for long-term network performance evaluation.
OCN-MS database is open: all stored data are available for access from standard third party applications.
Access to OCN-MS is based on User Profiles managed by the System Administrator: partial access is available based on different criteria (geographical area, .... etc.).
OCN-MS configuration is easy and fast, Nicotra Sistemi has developed a Graphic User Interface (GUI) that guides the system user through the configuration routine.
The same GUI shows in a "one glance" way the status of the optical network.
Client Stations provide remote access to system functions and data management of the SCU.
Surfing the OCN-MS is also available by means of standard Internet browsers.
